2010 marks the 100th year since Troop 1 was established as the first Boy Scout Troop in the state of Hawaii. (See our History page for more information regarding what we’ve been up to for the last 100 years.) It’s also the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America. Time to celebrate!
Troop 1 has developed some special events to mark this special year. It’s a calendar that includes scouting classics–camping and a Court of Honor–as well as a celebratory dinner. We’d love to have you join us for each and every one of these! All members of the Troop 1 family, past and present, are invited. Here’s what’s on the schedule:
Centennial Troop Campout at Kualoa Ranch 10:30 a.m. on 6/26/2010 to 10:00 a.m. on 6/27/2010
Time to head out on the trail. Great hiking, camp chow and campfire fun as we sleep out under the stars. Service project included.
Centennial Court of Honor 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010
Commemorate 100 years of Boy Scouting with this time-honored Scouting tradition. Held at Punahou School’s Thurston Chapel.
Centennial Celebration Dinner 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010
Food, folks and fun … local style! Dine to the music of “Kona” while you reminisce and reconnect at the Punahou School Cafeteria. Ono Hawaiian food served.
